They do sometimes have a fault with the tuning scale as the plastic wheel that the cord goes around disintegrates! Not much of an excuse but the best I can come up with!

MaxG: I have no practical experience of this but providing they are active speakers (Subs generally are anyway) then it should be, with the necessary cabling know how. The only other option I imagine would be by stringing a power amplifier off the powerlink sockets, again with suitable cabling, and the connecting passive speakers to the power amp. If

philippe: Peter, You're the true incarnation of English diplomacy and you know that! I'll be right with you just after my closing post in French on this topic. ------ Emmanuel, Franchement si tu "es désolé de lire" que je trouve choquant le principe de payer un abonnement annuel pour publier une simple annonce de vente

I think the reason you didn't get a huge number of responses is that very few people outside service technicians will go into the Service menu and alter the settings. The service manual along with the reference manuals for the BS3 are on site but I would advise getting your dealer to set it up for you - this is an expensive set up and you are entitled

I agree completely with this running in. I am a complete sceptic with this normally but my 3s sounded almost as if one was listening to two separate speakers each - very disjointed. After about a week they suddenly started to really sing. Interestingly, there is a short review of Beolab 3s as computer speakers in What Hi-Fi Sound and Vision this month

I probably can do a listing of manuals but be aware that there are 1423 of them at present. I am expecting more to be added as I scan them and people send me more. At present they are named in my own inimitable system and as I had to rename them once, I am not planning to do them again! The format is for instance for the Beogram 4002 user manual ; BG4002_user

Have you tried the 4000s as fronts? The 3s are lovely little speakers (I have a pair!) but the 4000s are very under rated. 6000s are ideal rear speakers but IMHO do lack a little as fronts - particularly bass. You are of course in a perfect position to do some speaker testing! Why not do some testing using the same source and different speakers and

tom: Alex: ..., the 'rotating' function of the BeoSystem 3 with speaker arrangements is very cool. what is that? never heard of that function... I have a small suspicion that Alex is reading two threads at the same time and has posted on the wrong one! Look at this thread and his post makes more sense!

I didn't realise that the Beocenters 2100,2200 and 4000 were based on Sanyos! Please send us a picture of your purchase! The 2100 etc dated from the mid 80s. The original Beocenter 2000 and 2002 were early 80s - and also based on Japanese sets. On copies, the nicest were probably the Hitachi Opus 1 & 2 which mimicked the Beocenter 9000 and actually

I digitise a lot of LPs but would suggest doing it on your computer. You can then record them onto CD and if you use the correct software, the tracks can be identified and named automatically. You can then put them on your SD card and you will be able to skip happily from track to track. I use a Mac and Toast with CD spin Doctor. I am sure there are
