I think you have had a bad experience, but i can not condone too much B&O bashing... the BV7 isn't a very different product to the AVANT. It's a beautifully built, designed and sounding piece, but lacks in picture quality compared to the good old CRT's, it's an LCD, still the best 32" lcd picture i've seen> the main issue

I really do not get how a bag and olufsen enthusiast would be happy replacing an AVANT with a cheap LCD (or led whatever) television

Well i wouldn't do it. It will be a down grade in picture quality. And as far as i know the BC2 and BV7 share the same pioneer dvd drive.

What option number is it in? (do you know how to check this?) (on the beo4) press and hold power off and list together, scroll to find option, press go, and press 1 Is it in a masterlinked setup, or on it's own?

Beosound 6 has much lower volume, but slightly better sound quality (a wider soundstage). I'm keeping my BS2 thanks, it's a much better product in my experience. Are you surprised that your BS2 sounds better than an iPhone?

do yo have a plasma near by? Strong light shining on the unit? Tried checking that it is in option 1?

Hmm I was going to suggest cleaning the touch bar with a wet cloth (and try that), but it sounds like electricity might tripping it off.

Just fix the avant. Move it to the bedroom when you buy a new BeoVision. 600 euro is not very much money. 600 euro is what would buy a cheap and crappy LCD which will never feel like it belongs in your home like B&O does. You can not just take the tube out of the avant and stick an LCD panel to it and have all the normal fuctions of the avant. It
