Afraid I cannot get to the file. There was a white 5500 system and the CD50 did go with the 5500 system initially so it could well be authentic - and obviously massively valuable! Well a bit anyway!

Don't think that is the serial number! Mine has a number 1069929 GB - but I think that is the type number. My serial number is 87042708 - and I have the suspicion that it is a 2004 model.(3rd and 4th numbers.)

BS3000 service manual now on and looks pretty complete. Not sure why I didn't put it on before as it was on my computer! Clearly going senile!

Unfortunately the numerals do not refer to the manufacturing date. Been fooled by this myself. The informant you have is quite correct - the 1200 was introduced in 2001.

Probably tricky though Frede Kristansen of Classic Audio might have some suggestions. I wonder about maybe getting one made - not as pricey as you might think.

I am afraid it shows numbers are not everything. No idea about the icon size which I agree sounds odd, but the Video Processor will simply be better on the Beovision - probably costs a lot more as well! The Beovisions do seem very good at movement though the resolution will probably be better on the Sony in a static picture. Would be interested what
