Chrome plating is done electrolytically on polished brass or copper and can be microscopically thin. You should never use any abrasives on it - but you probably know that by know The copper under it is another plating stage in case the object itself is something else, like steel. Does anybody have a recent, approximate price for Beolab 8000 frets and what colours are available? I have one that would probably need to be reclothed, which looks like a lot of work I don't need. So I might just as well buy new frets and change the colour from the boring black... Alternatively, is it possible to shrink the original cloth somehow

Well I have an MX6000IT-Beo4 (Mk.I) myself, and the menu-0-0-go page only shows the software version (3.10). The first page of the service mode (menu-1-1-go) shows the last error code, the serial number of the set, and an 8-digit code that doesn't advance (the service manual says it should be the 4 digit type code, but that doesn't match on
