  • Re: New pickup - replacement for MMC2 ?

Actually I don't think that is the problem. I would be more worried that the suspension will collapse completely and the guard will then scratch the record.

  • Re: DAB+

Not dead in the UK. Actually I like it! Lots of choice and for spoken word it is fine. Needs a better bit rate for classical music but works fine where I am.

If it sounds OK, it should be fine though I confess I would not use it on my records.

  • DAB+

B&O have just launched a DAB+ module for the BC2 and BS4. Not available in the UK as there are no DAB+ stations!

  • Product reviews

We are the lucky recipient of an excellent review of the Beo 610 by one of our members, Steen. Reviews like this add to the completeness of the site and get away from the usual marketing speak seen in B&O catalogues. I am always happy to edit and gently titivate reviews received so please don't be shy! Send me any reviews on items you have!

  • Re: New pickup - replacement for MMC2 ?

You have two choices: 1. Get your one repaired - Axel repaired one of my MMC2s which had a cantilever snapped off - works perfectly and uses what must be original parts. 2. Get a Soundsmith replacement SMMC2. The repaired one will sound like an MMC2 - the Soundsmith one will be brighter and sound more dynamic. Some think this is fatiguing, others like

  • Re: Lower a BeoVision 10-40 on motorised base

I actually agree with both sides. The stand does make the TV seem to float and it looks great - but you can then see the cables which is not so great.

This looks like a wonderful new game! Pictures of bits of circuit board and see if Martin knows what it is! He is scoring 100% so far!

  • Re: Beolab 8000 "look alikes" from DK

I think B&O have made their name with active speakers - the passive range were never heralded that much and I think this is with good reason. They did produce some speakers that were good - the ones that stand out are the S45-2 and the S120/MC120.2, but most of the rest are pretty average. The big speakers were good but so were lots of big speakers

  • Re: CX100 vs. BL6000

In my opinion, neither of these speakers are true hi-fi. However both have their place. The CX100 does not have much bass - not a huge surprise for such a small speaker but sounds very acceptable - I think if positioned correctly, it passes muster as a good close field speaker - I use a pair with a Beomaster 5500 and it compared not unfavourably with
