The problem you have here is two fold. The AV7000 was really only sold in the US so we Europeans will not have any practical knowledge of it, and it is also the generation before the BS9000 so has no Masterlink connection. I am sure it is possible - maybe the North American Forum members can help?

I would think it very likely that you would suffer from a good degree of background hum if you did this. Powerlink cables are well shielded to avoid this.

It sounds like you may not have all the cables. Each speaker should have its own power cable and should be attached to the Beocenter via the Powerlink sockets for sound. I attach a diagram. The radio does need an aerial - check that the one you have is properly attached. A screwdriver in the FM aerial socket will give a signal!

There are thoughts that the successor to the BV7 will be based on the chassis of the Beosystem 3. This obviously would offer a more flexible package.

Did you change the switch on the side from Audio to Video?

The 6000 is really the same as all the other cartridges. They are all essentially stereo cartridges but the CD4 able ones can track at up to 45kHz. The CD4 system works by having a couple of normal stereo tracks and also two rear tracks but these are encoded and the frequencies transposed to between 20kHz and 40kHz. The cartridge just sends a stereo

Uninterruptible Power Supply. Used mainly for computers to guard against sudden power cuts so that the hard disc doesn't crash and so you can save information. Most answer machines have a small back up battery which does the same thing.
