I don't like proprietary formats like WMA ;-) But I'll give it a try and I will compare MP3 - WMA losless - WAV - CD with my own ears. When I'm listening to a 320kb/s MP3 track and compare it directly to a CD I'm noticing the difference VERY clearly: The CD track has much more depth, pressure and sounds more present. Ich bin zwar Apple-Fan aber diese Apple-TV Box ist - bis auf die grafische Oberfläche - nicht mal annähernd damit zu vergleichen. Einfach eine flache Box die zu warm wird und sich nicht

Personaly, I think that you are only be able to estimate the sound quality with a WAV file ripped at 44,1kHz, 16bit Stereo as this would be standard CD audio resolution and this file represents the pure music from the CD; nothing that is electronicaly rendered and "changed" (like MP3, WMA, WMA losless etc.)
