• Re: CX100 - New Life....

I don't know much about the MCL amp I'm afraid, but it does sound like you have a lot of speakers connected to a relatively low-powered amplifier. Maybe someone else will know more? I would say get a Beomaster 8000 otherwise - no lack of power there!

  • Re: a pair of beolabs??

Good luck Nick! Seriously - £300 won't get you anything near a decent pair. For that money you'd be lucky to get some that were heavily marked, with all eight mid-ranges shot and in need of re-foaming. Double the budget and you move into sensible territory. To give you an idea, my mint Beovox (always cheaper than Beolab) Pentas were £600

I have a Cona that I used to use with a Beosystem 5000 and some other CX50s in the bedroom in my old house. The Cona definitely adds bass to the CX50s, and I guess it would do the same to CX100s. Don't forget that you run the speaker outputs through the Cona, then run the CXs directly from the Cona itself. The Cona has its own crossover that takes

  • Re: beomaster 8000 vs. vacuum tube amp............

I'm not sure if Martin has a valve set at home that he also uses, as I do know he has a Beomaster 8000 that he uses. Perhaps he could comment... All I would say is that I think you're comparing apples and pears. A Beomaster 8000 has 150 Watts per channel, so can be used to power big speakers such as MS 150.2s or Beovox Pentas (which I own and

  • Re: CX100 - New Life....

Good job! I just refoamed some CX50s to use with my new Beomaster 2000. They still need a little playing in as the sound is slightly muffled compared to my old CX50s that had been well played in. Did you just replace the whole drivers then? How do they sound?

Great this Mika :) Loved the review of the Quad Beosystem 6000. Now looking through for reviews of all my other older gear!

  • Re: New Toy

This one was boxed too Peter, so I guess that adds to its desirability. I prefer the white ones, but the white trim isn't very hard wearing!

Nigel - Blimey, I had no idea they were that sought after! Got your speaker rings on order BTW. Andreas - Thank you. These CX50s are still playing in some new speaker foams, but they sound very good with the Beomaster. You should dig yours out! :)
i honestly don't see what the big dealio is all aboot this , the mods removed an image of a forthcoming product after the manufacturer requested it
Hi Flappo The offical stance is that the manufacturer did not request it. They asked Lee to take a look at the image and talk to the OP about pulling

From memory, doesn't it tell you on the instructions that appear behind the drop-down panel on the MCP5000?
