• Re: Another seller warning and Paypal gem

I know what you're saying Jonnie - if paypal is accepted as payment, whatever the circumstances, then you should be entitled to the same cover offered as a buyer from ebay. I suppose they are only interested in protecting the ebay arm of their business to dissuede people making deals off of ebay. Looks like it works as well & I suppose you just

  • Re: The Signed Crowoods have landed!

A floring was an early 2 shilling (10p in new money) coin. Many were weighed in as scrap in the 1970's as the siver content was greater than the face value making them quite collectable now. I've also seen a few florins made into rings - done by gently tapping & turning them on the edge with a small hammer on an anvil. This rolls over the

  • Re: Martin (Dillen)

Now personally I'm nowhere near as modest as Martin & will take any plaudits, anywhere & at any time Seriously though, it is a genuine pleasure to help if I can. Chris.

Put it this way - if you were to sponsor me Thruppence a yard, you'd get change from a Ten bob note!
? Can anyone born before 1676 convert this into metric?
Thruppence (or 3 old pence) would equate to about 1.5 new pence (yes we WERE robbed when we moved to decimal

  • Re: Refoaming cx100
BTW what's the difference between the two drivers in the cx 100? They have different numbers?
One is a full range unit (the one with the hole in the back) to provide mid range & the other is a bass driver. B&O now only supply the full range one as a replacement for both. Like Mika I also use the battery

  • Re: Dead S45 woofers
Silly question: does that mean they're 'better'?
That is the million dollar question. Generally speaking, the more expensive a driver is the better it is likely to be and that is where the problems start with Beovox speakers. Many enthusiastic amateurs have replaced original drivers with upgraded

  • Re: MMC4 stylus angle

To be honest you would probably be better off posting a photo for comparison amongst other members. It will be quite apparent if the angle is way wrong. IIRC the vertical tracking angle is adjusted by raising/lowering the platter on the leaf spring adjusters, if everything elase is correct the top surface of the platter should sit about 2 - 3mm proud

Welcome to Beoworld wj. You need to test the voltage at the output end plug with a multimeter. Chris.
Here's a post to embarrass Martin (Dillen).
Knowing how utterly selfless & unassuming Martin is, this will certainly embarrass him - but in a nice way. I don't think he realsies just how much we rely on him & how very much poorer Beoworld would be wouthout him. I also know that he will certainly
