The only thing about this is the fact that attaching one gave no hum. Would suggest, just as Ed supposes , that the fault is in the Y splitter.

Not a great picture, and I am waiting for the aluminium disc which is being polished, but gives you an idea. You can see a bluish tinge! Looks completely black now to the naked eye!

Would seem very sensible, except I have Beolab 3s coming off my Beoport (Beolink PC2) using a Y connector and no hum at all. I did initially, but changed the Beolink PC2 for a newer one and the hum went. Make sure all the plugs and sockets are well seated.

I have used Apple Care about 4 times and on three occasions, they were fantastic. Once I got someone who was simply not interested but I rang again the next day and they were fine. The Genius Bar seems to be an American feature so I could not comment.

Mine is described as being black on the box. And today was the first time it has looked at all blue. I believe there are the two models - I'll picture it when I get the silver base.

To use the Beolit 1000 as an amplifier, attach the source to the Aux input and then press the P2 and P3 together. To utilise the external speaker, plug the speaker in the speaker socket with the pin facing to the rear. This will allow the speaker to work from the battery and can draw up to 2.5W. Using mine at present to watch the cricket! The sun was on it first thing this morning, and the surround looks very blue! Has always looked black before! How blue is yours? Looking black again now!

I have a suspicion that B&O would run a mile!! Tim Jarmam, who can be contacted at Beocentral would be more than likely to help. He also has a fair collection of older speakers - a lot of those pictured on Beocentral are his so you could, if you live near him, and ask nicely (!), get a chance to audition some before you buy. I think having it in a B&O dealer is probably a good idea. The alternative would be a pub and that might alienate some. Allied to which, it would be more difficult to talk. It could also encourage some who might not be regular Beoworld members to come as a dealership would be less threatening possibly. It is also a large space filled with lovely
