Are B&O helping themselves? There has been one price rise this year (UK) and maybe more exchange rate changes to come. There's a good chance that in the UK the VAT rate, due to return to 17.5% from 15%, will actually go to 20%
Although it's unlikely to rise again any time soon (although 18% has
Quitting my job, moving to Australia, traveling 30,000km in a Land Cruiser through the land... that has changed my spending habits. Ramen anyone?
Just out of interest, how did you get in Australia? I've looked at moving and, even with my IT qualifications, would struggle to be accepted. Unless you have a
Guys the BV7-32 was B&O's replacement for the avant > the only problem was that they were ignorant at the time that it's now a neccesity for people to have bigger screens (bigger is better it seems, but IMHO anything bigger in a normal sized living room, leaves the screen as the focal point of the room and
The tall stand is $1,500 and would work with your current BeoLab 7-4. The non-bluray BV7-55 is $11,000 so you'd be at $12,500 all in.
Eh? $11,000? Am I reading that right? Isn't anyone else in Europe angry that we're paying well over $20,000?
Razlaw is correct with his price estimate. In the States, the BV7-55 is much less expensive than the BV9. The 9 is $21,900 vs $18,000 for a BV7-55 with BluRay, BeoLab 7-6, low floor stand, and Beo 5. Personally I think the price difference comes from..
Yeah, but this is massively cheaper than the BV7
Just been down to my local dealer to try and get a replacement BS2 battery and can't believe how much B&O want for a replacement. Bearing in mind the BS2 is still in production, how can £67 for a rechargeable battery (that doesn't include fitting) be justified???
Mind you, Sky charge £65
B&O don't offer justified prices. The problem is people pay it, ourselves included, so they charge it. My friends think I am quite mad spending £10,000 on a TV. How right they are! Pay the money John and enjoy it, that's my philosophy.
You'll be certified when you get the BV7-55
If my math and figures are correct, in the US the BV7-55 is much better deal than the BV9. Price for a BV9 is $21,900, compared to $11000 for the BV7-55 without Blue-Ray. Add in a center channel speaker for around $4,000 plus a motorized stand which I am guessing around $1500 and the BV7-55 is $16,500
Wow, that

If I was planning to spend a staggering £15,000 on a TV (gawd knows how much it is in USD), I'd certainly go for the BV9 over and above the BV7-55. The picture isn't going to be any better than the BV7-40 and, indeed, could be worse (SD upscaled), has the same picture engine, same sound, same everything - just a 15" bigger screen
