In the UK I would say simply get another one. They sell for nothing these days and to get this one working will be complicated as you will probably have to replace far more than you think. Components will not be difficult to source in the main but it will be a laborious process. If you are not skilled in electronics, this is not the place to start.

The cartridge just pulls off. However the little metal tongue also goes into the cartridge - once you have the cartridge off, you will be able to see the space for it. It sounds as though it has been put on by someone ubexperienced - the metal tongue will need straightening very carefully. The service manual for the 6000 is on site with the diagram
