    Graham, Thanks for your input as well. I'm not trying to be difficult, but I just made the adjustments you suggested and I got it to between 2.5 mm and 3 mm all around with the arm moved toward the center. It still makes the rubbing noise when I get to the last inch of the album. Could there be any other reason for the platter to rub against the

    Martin, Thanks. I exercised the mute switch quite a bit and it seems to be working now. I also went through the photo sensor adjustment for the pick-up arm lift-lower operation and I seem to have found the sweet spot now, so issues 1 and 3 are fixed. I tried the deck height adjustment and at first it seemed to work, but then after a few more tries,

    I have just purchased a 5005 and it seemed to play fine for a few days, but I recently noticed a few problems and wondered what it would take to fix them: 1.
