  • Re: Beocenter 6

On the BC6-26 the serial number is behind the metal speaker grille. I guess it will be in the same place on the 23inch model. The grille comes off really easy - just grasp the edges and slide it to the right.

  • Re: BeoWorld and B&O..

Lee, I am a non-paying member so fully accept my view may not carry the weight of the paying members, but I'd like to raise some issues from a media industry perspective - some of which are similar to saf's. At present you accept "advertising" from a small number of companies in the form of sponsorship for a specific product or service

  • Re: Shop death plagues B&O another google translation.

In the UK, at least, I'm not sure that an independent selling B&O alongside other electronics items would be faring much better today. Many B&O dealers are selling non-B&O products but at the higher end of the market - home automation, etc. In the internet age there's very little money to be made at the Sony and Panasonic end of

  • Re: BeoLab 8000

Tom, You got in very fast with that comment and I have to agree with you. I still think the BL8000 design is a classic. The styling probably does not look so right with some of the latest music systems but they still look great with current B&O TVs. I hope B&O keep making them for many years to come - but not in white which I agree looks terrible

  • Re: Panasonic 600Hz panels?!

I may be a bit cynical (well, OK, I AM a bit cynical). But am I the only person that thinks electronics companies resort to technical specs only when they have no other way of differentiating their products. The world seems to be full of stuff with spectacular specifications but mediocre results. Or am I just getting too old.

  • Thoughts about profits and pricing

I've followed many of the posts recently attributing B&O's poor recent financial performance to its TVs. The argument put forward is they are too expensive and do not perform well enough for the price, but if B&O would only cut the price it woud sell more and be back in the black. Seeing Sony post its first net loss today in 14 years

  • Re: On-Line Pre-Owned B&O Dealers

I've bought quite a few items from MoreThan AV and found Ian to be quick to reply to emails and telephone calls and pretty helpful. Seems to get a lot of "new and unopened items" (the stuff I tend to go for). Last item I bought from him was only three months old according to B&O. If he runs that business as a hobby - as suggeted above

  • Re: B&O, please get on board with Apple!!

Linder, At the risk of diverting this thread, I was not suggesting that Rams is the only influence on Ives. Ives is a very good industrial designer but if you look at Apple products in the context of design history you will realise that when he produced the first iMac the fashion at the time was translucent designs - you will find many consumer products

His Soundproof, Apple products are designed by a team led by a UK designer - Jonathan Ive - who is quite heavily influenced by the central European design philosophy of guys like Dieter Rams (the guy that turned Braun into a style leader during the 70s and early 80s). Steve Jobs also likes the same ideas - he allegedly fired a designer because he could
