Watch the stylus thru the opening above it-does it stay centered as the arm tracks the record? Or does it move noticeably laterally, esp w/an off center disc. I've experienced such a problem and it related to the positioning of the "reader" arm in such a way that when the tonearm was released and on the record, there wasn't enough

Anyone have any 8002's for parts, or 8002 circuitboard assy w/ "can" or just the 8002 2"x3"x4" (approx) "tin can" that mounts on the circuitboard? Phil, Long Valley, NJ, USA 973 252 8018 If I only had a "brain" I could probably get another 8000 and an 8002 into use! phil

This weekend I came across an interesting thing: playing an old Miles Davis album on transparent blue vinyl, on the un-modified 8002, it wouldn't cue but went thru the scan/return cycle like it was "looking" thru the vinyl at the TT, and shut off every time. Using the 8002 that is using the 8000 processor "can" and 8000 CPU,

As I recall, it's captive ther until the double sided tape fails. It terminates by butting against the threaded insert in the plinth where the frt 4mm Philips screw goes that

An afterthought: check voltage to bulb-maybe it blew because it's too high/maybe it's out because there is none.

My experince pulling the rails up is that the plastic doesn't get brittle. Just get something like a skinny screwdriver under it adjacent to the clip and pry straight up. Get the front rod out first, then the rear one. You may want to park the tonearm midway on the tracks before starting: it's easier to get the leadscrew carrier tit into the

I just tried this on an 8000 that is in pieces. I assume that you've removed the sheet metal top cover that the beam interrupter arm plunges thru to expose the PCB w/bulb that's inside the plastic housing. I pulled off the little piece of clear plastic tubing that keeps the wiring in the routing guide and was able to free up enough harness to

Where are you? If you want it, I could sell you a good TX turntable and MMC2 cart for $200 but you'd need to pick it up in northern NJ, USA. phil

"so special on the Beogram 4000. (The later series have two separate buttons to achieve the same thing.)" 8000/8002 are special also! They have the same feature. phil
