• Re: Bang and Olufsen Outsourced

20% loss of currency value to Euro over that period does not help
True, it would be interesting to see the same data for the Danish & German markets.
In general it will be roughly the same. The market prices and movement of goods

  • Re: "TinyIR2" IR learning receiver IC

I can't see why it couldn't work. The 3-pin IR receiver modules (as the 38 kHz one as described over there) output the demodulated base band bit stream, and after that time B&O remotes aren't any different from others. If the software just compares the input to a previously trained pulse pattern without trying to decode it somehow, it
Mika - get it out of storage!
Unfortunately too preoccupied with SQL, PHP and jQuery... Also, the weather is still stuck at around -20°C, and the dry central heated inside air is full of static electricity. I avoid working with electronics in these conditions; although the semiconductors in a Beolab 5000 system

Gee, I'm still here and regretting it already. Well, let's see...
I agree that the BS8 is overpriced, but not because it's the BS8, but because it's Made in China. You have a BS3 which was made in Struer or Czech that cost nearly half the price of the BS8! That in itself shows that there was something wrong

  • Re: Grand Prix 608 Moderne Set Up

Ooh, I'm envious - a wonderful set! I also tried connecting Pentas to my Dirigent and the result was astonishing!
The knob thats missing is marked Balance 1,2,3,4 ecko. It seems to make it slightly more bassy. What is it supposed to do?
The "ecko" position is for, well, echo. You need the external
The forum wouldn't go on for as long as it had if everyone had answered and replied to every question that I posed as I did to theirs! The fact that I am repeating myself constantly and repeating my questions is because most people have only answered the few they felt would justify their point rather than any others

  • Re: BEOWORLD PRIZE DRAW - JANUARY 2012

What a nice speech Sebastian - I recongratulate you! I remember your 900K, that was an excellent thread. Good to hear you still have it and it gives good service @Steve, that's a very nice gesture! I'm sure Lee will agree to it to get one price hunt off his chest.

  • Re: Beosound 2000 - Door Motor Question
In fact, I've never heard officially about a BeoSound2000 - for me it was always a Century... So probably having mentioned "century" instead might have had more replies.
Oh yes, the Century was Beosound 2000 in the US! Fooled me I was blindly thinking it was one of those Ouverture style music centers

  • Re: Beosound 2000 - Door Motor Question
Opened it up. Yep. It runs for approx. 3 secs longer. Well, sort of; it tries to run (stops but you can see it's still trying to run). After 3 secs you can hear al little "knack" that shows it's stopping to get power. Obviously the belt is stronger than the motor...
When I think about it, quite

  • Re: Bang and Olufsen Outsourced
I am sure if you asked B&O why they don't outsource their higher end products I bet you they will say that it is exactly for the reason of keeping them at a high standard and high quality with hand assembly, etc... They will give you the same reasons that other high end manufacturers give. Again if China is so
