In case anyone else ever needs to know how to wire an MX motor stand I will document it here: - Pin 1 - Yellow Pin 3 - White Pins 2 & 4 - Green & Brown (pins 2 & 4 are connected on the board) The motor unit has far more to it than I expected; 2 pcbs with some kind of Intel chip, a crystal, about 6 small capacitors and lots of smd. Thanks Jaff I have a similar diagram in my LX5500 manual but it does not state which wire is which. As a last resort I can strip the stand down so see which colour wire goes to the motor and which to the position transducer but I was hoping to avoid that if possible... Richard

I have aquired a motor stand for my old LX but it has lost its plug. There are 4 wires; green, white, yellow and brown. Does anyone know to which pin each wire goes? Better still, if anyone has one could you possibly open the plug and post a picture? Thanks, Richard

Beware of snake oil... I have recapped many B&O and as long as you use low ESR 105 degree C capacitors you will be fine. For coupling capacitors of value 4.7uF and below you can also opt for WIMA non electrolytic capacitors. I tried these when I replaced the tantalums in a BM3400 quad (user mahnem recommended) and I think you can hear the difference;

If the black rectangle to which you refer is 2.5" x 1.75" and the stuff leaking out is white then it is normal. The device is a power amplifier integrated circuit and the white stuff is heatsink compound. Unfortunately there is no service manual for the MCL2P on the site so further help is a little tricky...

You are absolutely right Mika What you don't see from the pictures is the 10m of cable that connect the two units together and you would not want line level signals travelling 20m...

Thanks Rudy As soon as I saw it I emailed and telephoned with the asking price. It was only 50km away too... I spent another 50 euro yesterday on din plugs and cable and that is just to connect the 5 amplifiers and the 5 line-outs Once today's Grand Prix is over I think I will have a bit of soldering to do Richard
