Hello Trip, If you log into the B&O Mediacenter, http://mediacenter.bang-olufsen.dk , and search for BeoSound 8, there are three standalone images of the remote, and all have a green light at the center of the remote. Also, in a local magazine here -- with a very favorable review of the BeoSound 8 -- there was a close-up of the remote, again with

Hello to fellow BeoSound 8 owners, I've seen plenty of images where there's a small green light on the remote, similar to the one on the main unit itself. Does your BeoSound 8 remote have a green led in the center of the middle button? On my remote, there's no light at all, so I'm wondering if B&O decided to preserve the battery

...due to technological progress.
That's a bit worrying. Sounds like the reduced the LED count to save money, citing 'technological progress' as an excuse
From the B&O Press Release, regarding the new panel: "The LCD panel inside offers the latest
Folk used to claim that B&O only took the top few percentage performing panels for their TV's which partly explained their premium price. (Maybe this was plasma, but what's changed)?
Could it be that the panel supplier's standards have got lower? Are they providing inferior stock in order to
I agree with Peter. I think any quality control issues (and there's a legitimate case to be made that the other thread was a bit of hyperbole to begin with) will be or have been dealt with swiftly and most will be thrilled long-term with their purchase.
Hyperbole or not (I'm quoting myself on the

Sad news: I had a preview of two BeoVision 10 units at my dealer's tonight, after the shop's closing hours, in somewhat dimmed lighting conditions. "Movie watching conditions" could not be achieved, due to too much ambient light coming from the shopping centre's hallways. One of the units had clouding that was actually worse than
Is there any progress with this? I don't think this thread should be allowed to die - my BV10 has none of these problems so the claim that clouding is inherent in LCD technology is clearly not true - no clouding on any of my Apple Displays either........ have there been any developments?
Yes, I'm
Hi KMA, Just had a chat with my dealer in Zurich, and pretty much as I expected, the feedback was similar to the one I received from my dealer in Amsterdam.
Thanks RWST, It's good to hear how other dealers would react to such obvious clouding problems. I phoned my dealer on Wednesday, and they are active on

BeoVision 10 has two fans actually, they are referred to in the Service Manual and can be adjusted (at what temperature they turn on, and what's the speed of the fans at minimum and maximum temperature). They are located in the lower half of the TV, where all the electronics and speakers are housed. Luckily I've never heard even a hiss from
http://revision3.com/hdnation/coenbros/wrinkly-lcd-screen .. might be interest to you.
Thanks for the link, Cooldude. It's a delicate thing manufacturing LCD panels, so many things can go wrong. And you're absolutely right, this whole thing is by no means my dealers fault.
