• Re: software updates for Beovision 7-40 mark iv

This won't apply to all software bugs/fixes, but might explain part of your question. A panasonic TV, is a panasonic TV, plugged into the wall and just works. A B&O TV may be in option 1, option 2, option 4, option 5, option 6, each of which changes the way the TV responds to ir commands and interacts with other kit on the ML system. Using a

  • BeoSound 8 as TV speaker

I am sure most of you know this, but I figured it was worth posting my results now I've actually tried it. We have a games room with a 42" Samsung plasma. Picture is very good, but the sund from the nternal speakers is so bad that I honestly think they would be better off selling it without sound at all and letting people add on. Anyway, I

  • Re: Is it possible to extend masterlink via home powerline network adaptors?

This would be a great solution if it worked. Unfortunately there is no way on earth that it ever will. I think the confusion possibly comes from the use of the term "ethernet" to describe a cable, when in fact ethernet is a type of data packet that is sent down a cable. Because in 98% of cases this cable is CAT5/6 etc, people use the term

  • Re: Beovision 5 will not switch-on

Did you power down the BV5 at the wall when you option programmed the BC2? Sounds very much like you set both devices to option 0, which would explain the symptoms you were seeing, namely the BV5 not responding to IR commands.

  • Re: Beovision 10 - 46 Dont bye it :-(
Maybe they should have stayed with plasma a bit longer so as to differentiate themselves and keep the quality up as LCD seems a very under developed technology.
I agree 100%, and I would guess that given the choice B&O would have used plasma as well, and not a new unproven technology. This, after all, is

  • Re: Beovision 8-40 RF out

Me neither, but I am lazy . If I can make something work in exactly the way I want it to with minimal effort I couldn't care less about if it works the other way or not. I guess a shrink, or my wife, would read a lot more into that than I ever want to That's not a criticism of you wanting to understand by the way. It's a criticism of me

  • Re: Beovision 8-40 RF out

If I understand correctly, you are only wanting to pass through the analog signal, and not use any link functionality at all? If, could you not just split the cable at the back of the BV8? One to the tuner in the BV8 and one to your other TV

  • Re: Airport Express and Active speakers

My brother has exactly this setup in his house. Demonstrated in store by the dealer, sold by, and setup by the dealer. He has 1 (MK1) Apple TV, and the iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad use the remote app to distribute and control the music and volume. I don't know which cables they used, but there are BeoLab 4 PC in a study, 4000s in a dining room,

  • Re: Talk me into/out of buying BS5

I don't think it's a good thing, but then I don't really think it's a bad thing either. Most B&O customers want a hassle free instalation that works, part of this is the relationship with the dealer and the fact that the dealer becomes a one stop shop for all the customers AV concerns. They need never bother themselves with how stuff

I think the point that Trip keeps raising, and which keeps being ignored, is very valid. This site is in no way representative of the average B&O customer, people here are of course entitled to their opinions, but a lot of the things that get suggested for product updates are so far from what the majority of customers would want it's unreal
