  • Re: BeoLab 9 & sub-woofer

Better everything! The lab8000s are so old, we need a new word for old. Wait here it is.... antique. Having a small enclosure do have its own advantages such as better imaging, less time smearing etc.. But you see B&O has long marketed most of their speakers on big sound from small enclosure and that means a lot of pressure on the drive units to

bayerische: koning: I think you right on this one. What i can understand is why B&O not using better drivers?? What about the quality of the drivers in BL5 and BL9? Oh they are kinda average, the drivers are mostly from Vifa I think. Whereas the drivers in the old Lab range is downright poor. The real key to the performance of a loudspeaker lies

Dave: avus17: I mostly listen to pop an classic-pop music. For example: Alessandro Safina, Sarah Brightman, Josh Groban etc. but also Schiller, Bob Sinclair etc. You will wonder how you've been living with your current set-up for so long - when you get your BL9's. I know ! The Beolab8000s can't even handle the vocals well. When I had them

BL9 is more hifi than Beolab8000s coupled with BL2. As you know the BL9s have more radiating surfaces ( drive unit area) to reproduce the bass region which really translates to better dynamics/ precision and lower distortion in the bass region than the BL2. Having more bass doesn't mean having better bass quality. Ask any audiophile and they will

  • Re: BeoSound 5 costs 4.710,-€

RussR: wonderfulelectric: Pardon me. From what I recall, those systems had at least built-in hard drives and cd loaders. Anyways what I don't like about the Beosound 5 is the fact that it is not a network media controller. It is kinda outdated from its inception. Tragic. WE, I think some of the exasperation caused in these discussions is that some

wonderfulelectric: koning: avus17: I have visited my dealer yesterday to see the new BeoSound 5. The price is very high 4.710,-€ for a MP3/Net.Radio streamer with a wheel and display. My dealer told me that for the price it will be hard to sell it as there is no CD mechanism in the new sound system. What do you think? I had also troubles to play

  • Re: How to save Bang & Olufsen

TripEnglish: Carbon Fiber? Good god. I resign from this argument. I would like to continue the thread for a few more pages and hear from a few more people on their thoughts on my suggestions as well as their own suggestions. I think there is a lot to offer from this group and would love someone in the Danish hinterlands to read something more than to

benjnz: Puncher: Acrylic is, in fact, cheap plastic. But produce it in white and it becomes expensive when you sell it Bulletproof Acrylic isn't the same as normal acrylic. I think it might be perspex which is in the family of acrylic, and is used to make artsy jewellery. Then again even acrylic is more pricey than ABS plastic. It is a harder material

  • Re: Need help with Beolab 5s

Even so, shouldn't the dealer ask for the serial and check whether they are indeed stolen goods? And how do you steal a pair of Lab 5s anyways?
