thanks guys for the great responses. 1. I can pry open the doors open and the doors do shut automatically after a few seconds. 2. I do not believe it's a problem of jamming. more likely a sensor. 3. thank you for informing me that the remote cannot open the doors. i'm assuming there is no button that I can press on the unit to open the doors

Hi, i can't get the doors to open on the beosound 4000 that I recently received from my parents. i remember that if you wave your hand in front of it they should open but they don't. it powers on with the remote and plays cd's fine. is there a button on the remote that opens the glass doors? is there something I can check or do to fix the
