This one has me stumped - and the manuals give no clue at all! How can I tell the Beosystem 3 which N.Radio station to connect to for the timer? The Beomedia 1 doesn't have channel numbers as such, but I found when putting the channel into a playlist on the Beomedia, I got a 4-digit channel number - which I can't put into the Beosystem 3 because

Yes, I've set it up as a MK 2 as it has the DAB facility. The DVD works fine! just the audio parts are inaccessible.
-
Thanks - it is helpful, - and does the job!

Hi, I've had my Beomedia 1 fixed when the PSU blew up, but I'm not getting anything out of the audio out (except some clicking noise). I've opened the beomedia and there is a wire loose - it is coming from the ML board about half way up and a third into the board right next to the Micronas chip. The cable is gray with a black and red wire

The issue is the key. The HDCP licensors (the studios) do not give a key to manufacturers of such a device - the manufacturers re-use one that is meant for a legitimate use. Technically, the HDCP Licensors could disable the key - but this hasn't happened yet (and is unlikely). The use of the key on devices not identified to the licensors is prohibited

I cannot access the BC2 with the remote in the mainroom (where the BS3 is) for audio sources (DVD works OK) though accessing RADIO or CD or DVD from a link room works fine. Using the close-up controls for audio on the BC2 activates the function but the BS3 does nothing - either continuing the playing source if switched on - or stays off if off.
-
The commands are transferred via the SCART cable in EU units, so no need for the separate cable. The issue can't be control though because using the close up buttons, the Beosystem 3 doesn't activate...

I think ML is used for the link room control and audio. You're right that the DVD control is through the SCART cable - and that is working fine. Pressing DVD in the mainroom works OK. It just doesn't do anything when selecting DVD or CD. I've tried what you suggest - but no difference - the DVD is still working, but nothing for CD or Radio

HDCP is in passthrough mode in the Beosystem 3 - so that isn't the problem - and i'd hesitate on buying a new box - specially as it downscales unnecessarily for your needs. The issue with the avant is different as it is the downscaler box that needs to have an active HDCP key as it is a terminator (and not really legal :) ). One thing I'd

Yes, ML is connected - that's why it works in the link rooms. Things have changed now - I can now put the Sky box on DTV and it works fine - I suspect the valves or pixies or whatever in the Beosystem 3 needed to have some time to recognise that I'm not using the DVB board... Still can't listen to the radio or CD in the mainroom though.
