  • Re: New survey!!

The doors on a Beocenter 9500 are easy to take apart... and rather difficult to reassemble!

  • Re: Beosystem AV 9000 Problem - at least I could get the model correct - sorry!

error 1 indicates a communication problem betweeen the monitor and the base unit - probably the short masterlink cable....

  • Re: Avant Contrast Screen

The screws are internal, unlike the LX and MX series. You have to take the back off the Avant to access them - and this should only be undertaken by a qualified technician.

  • Re: BEOLINK 7000 YELLOW CAPACITORS REPLACEMENT???

The two capacitors inside the IR receiver metal shielding are prone to failure in my experience. The value is 22 microfarad, 16 volt. I wouldn't replace the others unless they tested bad with an ESR meter.

  • Re: 9500 CD spin noise

There is an adjustment on the 9500 to center the CD clamp in the arm when a disc is loaded. If this is not correct you will hear a ticking or scraping noise as the disc rotates.

  • Re: New Link-Eye from ML for MCL-System?

To change the bathroom sensor for the round type with full functionality would require a Beolink passive in the bathroom to run the existing passive speakers, and also a beolink converter to convert the BC9300 from MCL to masterlink. You'd have to change the cabling from MCL to ML as well - it would be a rather large investment for the sake of updating

  • Re: New Link-Eye from ML for MCL-System?

I think the MCL round sensor that Peter is thinking of is the wall charger for the Beolink 7000. The standard round IR sensors and the rectangular MCL sensors are very different electrically, so I don't think you can modernise the Xtra speaker kit with a round IR. The MCL transceiver has a microprocessor which determines which Infrared codes are

  • Re: Beocentre 6 as computer monitor

I have used a BV6 22 for a computer monitor for a couple of years now. It is perfect for me, as my office has bright sunlight in the afternoon, and the anti reflective coating works very well to minimise the glare. I don't need a high resolution monitor for the stuff that I do. It's nice to not need additional speakers on the desk as well.

  • Re: The B&O earbud A8 is a copy! Read newest review.

Reviewing a pair of headphones or speakers using compressed source material does not make sense to me. If you want to compare how well a product reproduces music, surely you must ensure the source is as good as possible and not a CD you ripped at 192kbps because you don't have golden ears!

  • Re: BS3+RS232 confused

Beogen: Today I have been told by our IT guys that it shouldn't matter if the cable is crossed or straight. In some cases there is a build in RX/TX switch which looks at the input what is received and what is transmitted. The electronics should know what to do with it. This is sometimes true for ethernet devices, but is not the case for RS-232.
