Thanks TripEnglish. To confirm; there is an IR port on the BM5 but it isn’t currently supported and that is how you will be able to control it with an older Beovision (e.g. Avant) when this port is supported/enabled.

I see in the thread ‘At Last’ you can purchase a MB5 on its own. I’ve yet to ask my local dearer in Australia….. But does any one know if it will work with an Avant DVD in the same way as it does for the current range of beovisions? And would the Avant need any upgrades. (I also have Beoports and BS3000 in my setup)

I would recommend deinstalling all B&O applications including their directories. Or using a restore point prior to the installation You mentioned BeoPlayer? Please check that you have downloaded the correct software and using BeoPort version. Then install BeoPort taking care to plug in the Beoport to the PC USB only when asked by the installation

Hi Peter, I have multiple PCs connected with BL speakers. In the advanced tab of Beoport configuration selecting Main PC = No stops the distribution of that Beoport. So you don’t get any conflicts over masterlink if you do this. It all works very well with multiple Beoports. i.e. on any secondary Beoport you can listen to all masterlinked sources

Did anyone have any luck obtain the software? My dealer has refused, all new people I have designed, cabled, installed a all equipment for a 7 room AV ML system and I work in IT, and understand you might render the Beo5 inoperable if you muck up the config but I would really like to have the software to continue to change its setup without have to drive

Welcome to the forum! It could be down to the type of powerlink cable you are using. Are you using the cables that came with the BL6000? BL6000 came with Powerlink BL3’s need to use a powerlink mark III which can be identified by a small triangle moulded into the black plastic covers on the plug ends.
