Usually the people selling just the turntable will ask quite a bit for them. In my case when I was looking for just the turntable I bid and won an ebay auction for a whole 4500 system including turntable. I sold the pieces individually after cleaning them, reglueing the glass on the amp, and putting together good listings. In the end the turntable cost

Hi Snoopy. Thanks for this post. I personally think the actual driver and crossover arrangement is severely holding back the speakers, and I don't know if investing in the amps is worth the effort before the driver and crossover setup is corrected. I was writing a post on an audio website to someone who had just acquired a set of penta 2's,

Honestly I think they'd be shooting themselves in the foot if they discontinued it. B&o has often made the mistake of carrying the same product for too many years without an update, but given that this cd player is arguably the modern quintessential B&o piece I can't see it as a wise decision. Well I've been on the lookout for a white beogram 6500 for quite some time. I can't say I'm in desperate need, but with the relative shifting between the exchange rates and economies around the world, I figured it doesn't hurt to ask. Thanks, Austin

If I'm thinking of the same listing you're talking about bandorocks then it doesn't included the turntable.

Hi bandorocks. I believe you meant to post this in the "wanted" section rather than the "for sale" section. Also, the white and silver color is the color of all the 4500 systems. They were only available in that one color. The similar looking system in grey and black is called the 3500. Just letting you know so you don't have

Hi mortmart, and welcome. In short, you are better off keeping an eye out for another beogram cover, or perhaps a broken beogram that you can switch lids on. You often see broken beograms or even lids alone on ebay. In regards to fixing the scratching yourself, one of the major problems as you said is matching the grain. Emery will put fine scratches

I actually found an oem source for the midranges at $6 US each. The only problem is the ones in the pentas don't have a flange since they're recessed, whereas the oem ones have a square flange, so you would need to know how to use a lathe to cut the surround into a circle shape. Given that, it would probably be easier for most to just use the

Are you trying to use the Kenwood amp as the main amp to power the pentas, or are you trying to use the kenwood as just the preamp/receiver while having the pentas run on their own amps? Austin

1989-1991 are my favorite B&O years. I have the full 4500 system with Penta 3's and love it. I also have a white 6500 system, and even though I love it, I don't think it has the same show-worthiness of the 4500 system. People always see the 4500 system and either ask "what's that?" or "is that a stereo?" Austin
