I have just bought a pair of Beovox M150's not because I need them, I just could not resist!!! I know they are 150w, can I use them safely with a Beomaster 6500? Is the Beomaster going to struggle to power them. I'm not planning to throw parties and turn them up really loud....well maybe now and again just to show

Japan have had HDTV for almost 20 years. Read more at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/High-definition_television
In my humble opinion what is written here is the same experience that I have with the Beolab 9's. A truly great speaker will deliver whatever you might choose to feed it with sensere honesty. No distortions and no makeup. Garbage in, garbage out. Signalwise that is. It is not my intention to insult any musical references
Listeners will just end up turning the volume knob down if they find it too loud anyway, so what's the point in making records so loud?
Because of radio. Heavy compression -> your song sounds louder than the other songs played. That's how it started. Also, when (mainly commercial) radio stations began
Why are they upgrading them then?
I'd guess that the new version is cheaper to manufacture.

If bass is missing, there are probably holes in the old foam surrounds.

Another point of failure is the speaker switches. Ok, that's probably not your problem in this case, but it's still worth mentioning in bm8000 threads as I have had that problem on all of my three 8000s.
-
Ah, I see! Mm, so have I. At least on one of my beograms (I think it is my 8002) there is more audible rumble when the tonearm carriage moves, so every now and then you can hear a short "wrmm" in the speakers if you listen carefully. I wonder how much this construction affects the sound, there is problably more than the aforementioned "wrmm"
-
Yes. My point (that got lost, hehe) is that it is easier to build a good beltdrive than a good directdrive turntable. I think that the two methods are capable of similar results (when we're talking no-compromise systems), but directdrive is more complicated and that's why it's generally easier/cheaper to build a cheap but good beltdriven
-
Phil, You seem to assume that beltdrive automatically would make the 3300 an inferior turntable. That's not the case - it's much easier to build a decent beltdriven turntable than a directdriven one. The reason to why the 8002 sounds better than the 3300 has probably much more to do with the rest of the construction. There are so many factors
