Hi, That's weird. I haven't modified the RIAA filter circuit in my BC3500 and the phono has plenty of treble. I just followed Tim Jarman's advice and replaced C346/378 (1nF) with 100pF to brighten things a little bit. He also explains this in the latest Hi-Fi World issue. Hi, Are you sure it is dead? It is extremely rare! I thought my Beogram CD transformer was dead, but there was a thermal switch (between the windings) which triggered (once it does, it is dead) because there was a shorted electrolytic in the power supply. What has your friend tested so far?
