If the new sub is used for the "smaller" speakers bl 3, 4000, 6000, 8000 and so on the bl 2 will be useless because it can't fit with the bl 5 and it does not really make sense with the bl 9....

as far as I know: Beotime, Beocom 5, Beovision 7-55, maybe an ipod dock, a new sub instead of Beolab 2 and so on....

so I should better take the beolab 9 behind the commode?

of course are the beolab 5 even in small rooms better than the beolab 9 but as I am standing at the same decision I am not sure if the beolab 5 make really sense....? 2 new beolab 9 cost around 7000 euros and I have never seen 2 used beolab 5 under around 12 000 euros....
