• Re: Cosmetic Sacrilege?

Personally I don't think the cd50 or any of that range would look very nice with wood veneer, it would distract your gaze away from the beauty of the 8000 IMO. Would be far better to change the veneer on the 8000 if you had to do anything! As for zebra wood, not for everyones taste but if you want to try it then what's stopping you!

  • Re: Beogram 4000: worth it?

I think an old bashed up platter with ribs removed and suitably high mat is the answer here... Although I am a little surprised the ribs could make such a difference to sound but there you go! @ Jaques have you got a link to that Hifi world review you mention?

  • Re: Another B&O collaboration

I would love to see this tech in some of the next HTC phones, please HTC talk to B&O :)

  • Re: Taking a saw to a Beocenter

Oh I like people who are brave enough to hack B&O in such a way! IMO as long as it isn't a rare item customisation should be encouraged! DVD player in a Beocenter 9500 anyone?? I have a great idea for my 2400 when I eventually get some of the bits I need :)

  • Re: Beocenter 9500 glass panel tape cleanup
Mind you don't get caught agreeing with me!!! The viscosity of the glue is important as is technique.
I haven't found too many reasons to disagree with you yet - in this case I guess it was the perfectionist in me - I even spent ages looking amongst credit cards of the right thickness for the gaps

  • Re: Beocenter 9500 glass panel tape cleanup

I am glad someone else has confirmed this, as that was exactly my thought when I recieved the stuff, and so proceeded to glue what was left of the old tape instead with superglue. If I were to glue again I think I would paint the lower bevel of glass to stop any small amounts of seeped glue showing through, as it did in my case. Wasn't nearly bad

  • Re: Amazing Beogram 6500 for sale

Change "accident with a candle" to 'Stupid use of a candle' and that listing might be a bit more accurate!!! A white model too what a shame. Anyway to anyone interested in parting with their hard earned cash make sure you don't get you fingers burnt

  • Re: Beocenter 9500 glass panel tape cleanup

I agree, there is no black paint on the bevelled part of the glass (underside) and any glue can show through this if there is seapage, as I have found out!

I honestly didn't think your example would be beaten in the silly stakes, but my jaw fell from it's hinges when this one came up in a search!!! Beomaster 6000

  • Re: Beocenter 9500 glass panel tape cleanup

Only reason I can think of is that you had top and bottom panels the wrong way round as you actually mentioned - with glass panel upside down you would have to be extra careful where you put them - because of the panel-screw recess..
