  • Re: Beomünster

Have to check mine later! Well, it could've been a Freudian slip or a honest typo. I've lost count on old radios where Lahti is spelled as "Lathi". (LW at 254 kHz, one of the first radio stations in Finland and at one time one of the most powerful in Europe. The station is sadly closed, but the antenna masts still define the city,

  • Re: beogram 1700 connection to beomaster 5500

The screw in the rear panel of the 5500 (above the "sensor" connector) is exactly for this purpose. Leaving the ground wire disconnected won't harm anything, but you will probably have bad hum while playing the Beogram. Beogram 1700 doesn't have any remote control facilities.

  • Re: Flash your B&O!

Nice, cozy feeling in that room, Earle - furniture along those lines (excl. the sofa) was very popular here in the '50s and '60s

[quote user="JONNIE"] I have recently got a MX4000 and is connected via scart lead to new virgin box, just wondering I am having trouble with colour/contrast etc they all work but can appear a little vibrant on reds at times (or washed out on other channels) and I find I am adjusting colour /brilliance depending on what channel I am watching

  • Re: Voltage setting: 220 or 240 (for 230 V...)?

Another good point I haven't thought of before is that setting 220 -> 240V will also cut the standby power consumption by about 10% (for the kit that has a transformer based power supply and a standby mode instead of a mechanical on/off switch). May sound small, but I can definitely see the time I started collecting B&O in my electric bill

I love it! The stand doesn't seem to be motorized, though...

I also try to avoid changing too much at a time if the patient is not working when I begin. In my experience those orange Roedersteins aren't as often bad as the dark red brownish ones which can actually show cracks. Also, marginal caps aren't that critical in a full analogue construction. It'll usually work nevertheless and you can worry

Good question - I asked the same some time ago: http://forum.beoworld.org/forums/t/33839.aspx Actually I forgot all about this and my units are still all set at 220V. I think I'll now go through them and switch to 240V where possible. One thing that may sound stupid, but people often forget... UNPLUG FROM MAINS before touching the selector!

Nice job! For dial cord retaining purposes, I use Blu-Tack which may not be as elegant, but quick and effective: http://forum.beoworld.org/forums/p/36076/302683.aspx#302683
