If your old cart. is sounding good and you like the sound, continue using it, it may last a couple of years more, but it will go bad as all of these old cartridges, so buy a spare from Soundsmith. No need to be ashamed, you fond the failure and thats it, I've done a lot of works where I looked for failures for days, and not finding them, stopped took a long brake, and went back to the basics.

I did my BM 2400, check here and after 6 months again here read both threads before doing anything, remember to order trimmers and lamp kit, not only caps, and before dismanteling check the balance, bass and treble sliders for noice or fall outs. I also changed the Power bridge (15V supply) with a selfmade bigger one, the old one got hot.

Radio Universal, Oldies but Goldies, Mexico on my BM 2400, S45s, I just love that sound now that my BM is working perfectly, at the same time I watch Mexico- Brazil U20 smifinals, no sound of course.
