There were some technical papers available showing how they plan to do it. Essentially they make the aluminium very thin but then have tiny pores in it so you can have touch sensitive areas that light up. Very clever and this will come!

Interesting! One of the wires must be acting as an aerial so in the first event I would reroute the wires. Bizarre though! I suppose the other thought would be intereference from a wireless router but that seems a bit far fetched!

If the speakers feel fine, great! Just use them! I cannot remember seeing a pair without rot but I am assured they do exist! The radial 5000 is a beauty - it is the best match for the 5000 system - noe how all the lettering on the front of the units match and the quality of the light in the lid - much better than the later tangentials.
