joeyboygolf: Your points are all very valid but don't apply to me or I suggest to the majority. I just wanna watch the television, you know, old fashioned entertainment such as news, sport, the odd comedy, documentaries or some of the wonderful dramas that British TV is famous for. I have no desire to watch modern DVD's be they Blu-ray or HD

Definitely get a surround module - the whole system will benefit!

About the same! CXs are a much cheaper initial buy though. C75 drivers on the other hand are much more expensive!
-
The center channel is really just for speech. 45W is usually fine. You will rarely use more than 1W! You will not be getting the centre speaker output via this channel.

Yes. The drive units are however not that expensive. However if you have the skills, it is obviously possible.

They are non filtered outputs. The user manual is on site.

The easy way to test this is to set the weight on the scale to 0 and if the arm floats, it is correctly calibrated. Set it to 1.2 for playback. It could be that the suspension on the cartridge is failing. Try warming it up with a hair drier and see if this makes any difference! Not too hot!

On a 25" screen, HD is almost pointless!

The BV1 seems rather expensive. Lee has several for £150 less. Consider an MX as well as these are less money and the same basic set.
