Can't disagree! The LX and VX combination are lovely and very stylish as well as offering wonderful performance.

It is possible to enter tha draw without joining though to send a post each month by registered mail from Australia will probably cost you a considerable amount of money! Gold membership is about 2 pints of beer a month - seems pretty good value to me!

Yours lasted a lot longer that mine did! Sounds about right! Remember that the opening and closing of the case uses quite a lot of power.

I am a member and attempt to be positive though the process is rather tortuous and some questions can be a little infuriating! I can understand why some sarcastic comments arise and if you notice, the list of answers diminish rapidly as the quiz proceeds.

Have to agree with cozza. The VX5000 just has too many features and runs very hot. The problem is that it is the best one - the VX7000 is much more plastic and very simplified in comparison. No. I am saying it has a better specified DAC. Whether you can hear the difference as they are simply differently specified units of the same DAC is decidedly debatable. It is quite likely that they are produced on the same line and those with the better spec are marked A and those with slightly wider tolerances are not. You can simply change the DAC

Try plugging the front speakers into the BS3000 and see what that sounds like. It does seem that the surround sound module on the TV is acting up. Also try switching everything off at the mains for 5 minutes and then trying again. Let me know the results.

They did in the past. The CD5500 used the TDA1541A or P DAC where the CD4500 used the plain TDA1541. You probably cannot hear the difference, but you can measure it! Not sure if the new ones do the same, but they may.
