Have you spoken to Martin? One thing you might want to consider is... If you really struggle I think it is Joeyboygolf who wants an arm for a 4000 maybe the pair of you could wait for a battered 4000 on ebay. Then if that part is ok you could make a deal with him? However make sure you are not bidding agianst me first BTW I am willing to bet the reviewer

Polished would be great if possible did it actually start to look mirrored like aluminium would though? Can't wait to see the results :)

I am certain I once pondered the exact same question as you regarding the hole Jacques, if that helps!!! Cannot remember for the life of me which deck but was definately 400x! Regards the motor I think either replace the cap anyway or scope the output and check against the manual. Personally I would do as Martin says! Check the motor current hasn't

For a start you want to remove your IPOD from the phono input as this is designed for a magnetic pickup and will distort to the point where damage could result with anything else! Try the tape input instead. Also you haven't mentioned which 1600 you have, shelf unit or desk unit?

You could pull it off, IMO it would have to be a clever design, contemporary (no camouflage patterns!) and ideally quite simple.

I agree that the inner display frame should be left alone. Beo4 no. 2 looks great without white frame except the lines down either side they are too much I think - white is best. I would also cover up the text even though the control would look a little top heavy. Only other little niggle I have is the black bit between the arrows.. The link 1000 looks
