Though they're similar in that they're both digital media managers, they're very different products. The BeoMedia 1 is meant to be used by itself as a fully on-screen experience (connected to the B&O TVs with VGA, SPDIF, & ML), comprising modules for N.MUSIC (your stored music files), N.RADIO (streaming IP radio from the web), PHOTO

I don't think the wheel remains necessary with this concept (and I can't really figure out how it's suppose to attach). I also agree that I'd be happier with a tablet as an optional add-on than a replacement. I've taken enough years off my life trying to get wi-fi devices to cooperate and I'd just as soon keep my wired option

It's not as big as it looks. If it's installed low on a wall it will look very elegant.
