  • Beogram 6000 Shipping considerations

Hi all, I've just bought a Beogram 6000 CD4 in Canada, for a reasonable price of GBP120. Includes a MMC20EN - described as in good condition. Original packaging is not available. I've never pulled one of these apart, so I have no idea as to how to instruct the seller to pack for shipping. Should the Platter be detached, and packed separately

The scam continues on this particular BG6000 - read on here http://forum.beoworld.org/forums/thread/30711.aspx Don't touch this Beogram 6000 CD4 - Serial Number 306242

  • Re: RIAA Amplifier

Fair Enough - just an idea. The main selling point is to be able to have it fit inside the Beograms, instead of an external unit. Just the prototyping of the PCB would run about GBP500, so if there's no commercial justification, I'd be pretty hard put to lay out that sum on a gamble. Graham Slee's and Soundsmith's external RIAA preamps

  • RIAA Amplifier

Hi all, Just an idea I've been toying with - I'd like to get feedback from you all. There have been many enquiries about adding RIAA amplifiers to the Beograms. There is a whole lot of equipment out there, some excellent genuine stuff, and plenty of snake-oil. I've been thinking of designing an RIAA amp based on the National Semiconductor

  • Re: Replacement part help needed

On ebay, there is a seller called Lazerwave - specializes in B&O accessories. I've bought from him many times, excellent quality.

  • Re: Do I need to clean my ears, 7.4 question

My favorite Quad records are Enoch Light and the Light Brigade, by Project 3. I think I have the whole CD4 collection, but I'm not sure. I also have some CD4 RCA Instrumentals. Then I have an assortment of SQ4-matrix records. I certainly can't complain about the sound quality of the Project 3 records - I think they're wonderful, and they're

I was first introduced to B&O in 1973. My late uncle had a BM1400 (Moldenhawer design) and BG1000. When he died, we very proudly accepted this inheritance, and enjoyed it for about 5 years, until someone decided one night that they needed it more than we did. By that time, I had finished school and just started Engineering at University, and was

The MMC6000 is not a concern, I had one of them (bought new), and the rubber suspension disintegrated, so today I would stay away from them completely. I don't think we have anything to worry about regarding suitable cartridge availability...... Here's what I asked Peter Ledermann at Soundsmith: How would the SMMC2 affect the playback of my

Hi Craig, You've hit a sore point for many of us. B&O design is now limited to the exterior. The insides are a whole lot of the me-too generic garbage which you can find for 1/10th the price from Chinese manufacturers. In the 70's and 80's, an engineer could justifiably admire the simple and efficient circuit design of their equipment

  • Re: Beogram 6000

I bid on this, and it turned out to be a case of Shill Bidding. The Seller's bidder pushed me way up, and then minutes before the end, cancelled his high bid, and bid in GBP10.00 under me, so I would win at a stupid price. I told the seller to go to hell at that price, and reported him to ebay. Wait, we're not finished - he then comes back to
