Without the glass door the machine will do some very wierd things and may convince you that some of the faults you describe are real. Put the glass door on and the apparently unconnected faults both mechanical and electronic simply disappear. I kid you not!

As a re-seller of B&O audio systems, quite a number pass through my hands. You would be amazed at the proportion that come to me with maximum bass and treble boost selected and loudness ON. I would estimate at least 50% and probably a good deal higher. Obviously come from an audiophile household!! Having reset the tone controls to flat and loudness

It is probably set to Option 0 for some reason. On the remote, try STBY, SOUND, 1 , STORE Should now work!

Problems like this are difficult to trace. Check that one button is not stuck. Sounds like it could be a broken ribbon cable/connector or dry solder joint. Call me a miserable old git if you like but you may have bought an expensive Beo4 rather than a cheap BC2300
