If you have more than 1V on the base of transistor 6TR11, it's dead. Can you tell me the voltages in Standby and On on the collector pin of 6TR11 ? Martin

Beocord 5000 in palisander. Note the red label, serial number and the P3 stamp (type of palisander finish). Martin

What happens when you press the source selector pads (FM1-5/TP/PHONO) ? Martin

I wasn't getting at you at all ! I was merely trying to be funny but obviously didn't succeed and I'm sorry. David Lewis is also a great designer, I agree. He has lived in Denmark for more than 30 years, I drive by his Design headquarter quite often. Martin

I know who you are thinking of but Jacob Jensen is danish. Martin

Welcome to Beoworld ! Many Beocord owners seem to have trouble with this since the original mains cables tend to crack around the power plug but it really isn't a huge problem. Many other producers used this type of power cord. Marantz, Revox etc. Do a search on Ebay and they will show up. Like this: http://shop.ebay.de/i.html?_nkw=revox+netz*&_sacat

L2 is a tiny transformer working with the frequency readout circuit. It will obviously need a repair but it is not the reason for the main problem. That will most likely be a broken copper trace near a solder pad at the connectors between the processor board/display board or a similar missing connection elsewhere. Check f.e. the "Relay out"

Mika, That is indeed possible, and it would also explain the 6-position voltage setting switch that we don't see in Denmark. Does your S.290 have the same ? Martin
-
Oh yes, there it is ! Here a Master 610 Type S.225 in my collection, awaiting restoration : Martin

I wouldn't expect all Master 610 to be exactly the same. There can easily be different versions (strange if not). This model was obviously still developed while being produced (which makes the different versions even more collectible ). I saw a S.290 too a couple of years ago but I'm not sure if I have any photos of it. Oh, and watch out for
