Added today: Aforesaid Beocord Reel to Reel 1200/1600 Beocord 1700/2200 - the 2200 is an interesting deck as it has indestructible glass heads and all separate components with no ICs so should be serviceable for almost ever! Also very tweakable so a good one. Much less temperamental than the 5000!

No! But a 4000 without an odd foible is a rare beast! Mine will drop onto the platter with no record there! (By the way, have you noticed that the cut outs in the radial supports are positioned so if this happens, the stylus is not destroyed! Misses by a few millimetres! Needs nerves of steel to test this mind you!) Thinking of buying a Soundsmith SMMC20CL

Well they are about to increase in price - but that is just the annual increase which is affecting most of the range.

Don't think mine has that! It is however now on site! I didn't do it in colour - it is in two parts already because of size but I will happily do a colour scan of any page if someone wants it. I am lucky in that I have an A3 scanner!

Will keep adding! I am having to convert them to pdfs so they do take a little time. I also have some which have not been on site before which will be added!

I believe this is possible but you need a special lead - jack to Powerlink - from a dealer. It will be fed from the headphone output of the BS2. I believe someone has done this with BL5s ! Rather superior to the usual iPod dock!

Dylan beat me to it! I am slipping!

Does it make a loud click when over the record? It should do! If not, the problem is the solenoid. The fail safe position for the solenoid is with the arm up. When the solenoid engages, the arm drops in a damped fashion. If it does click, it may need a little persuasion to drop! Take the cartridge off before 'persuading' it!

Rather depends on the TV. The 2500 accepts variable line out - that is the output expected from a preamplifier. Most outputs from other TVs tend to be either unregulated line out or amplified. There are ways around this but to be honest, MX TVs are so cheap now or even LX sets that it makes sense to get one of these for little money. They can be linked
