Why do you think we asked Graham to be a technical adviser! He really knows his stuff. And he is getting quicker! Our posts seem to be at the same time - I am scanning at the same time so I am posting slowly so don't notice the other post! I wouldn't usually post after such an informative post!

In my view it will probably be worse! The S80.2 is really very good. Did you change the capacitors when you were refoaming? I don't think you would notice a big improvement until you get to 8000s. Another way of improving things would be to improve the amplifier - probably the weakest part of the 8500. Find a pair of Beolab 200s or use a Quad 405

Probably a Masterlink issue. Mine did this when I got my Beolink PC2. The TV keeps a log of the errors but you need to go into the service menu and it is all gobbledygook to me!

The site just doesn't work with Safari (It is Microsoft based!!) Use Firefox - it is free and if you are like me you won't look back!

If you have not already, unplug it from the mains and also unplug the ML socket. Leave for 5 minutes and then try plugging it in unconnected. Set it to option 1 and see if it now works. You can sometimes get a block on Masterlink which just stops something from working. The other thought is a PIN code issue - does yours have a pin code?
-
Graham beat me - to be fair I am doing three things at the same time! You may want to download the Masterlink Handbook as well - Have no idea where I have put this on the site!!!!! Anyone found it? If necessary I will scan it again!

It sounds like they have defaulted to Option 1 at the time of the power cut. The TV and 9000 both need to be option 2. The passive needs to be option 6. Do you know how to do this? I have emailed you about the Configuration Guide!
-
Do you have the service manual? I do have this one if needed and will scan it it if asked and put it on site! You need to be a silver or Gold member to access manuals.

Not as good in my experience but not bad! Better than the 4500/9500/MCL2P amplifier. Windows used to service these but less sure about this now they have changed ownership.

The power in this case shows what I have been saying for a while! B&O measure the power consumption rather than the output power in the older figures! Thus the Pentas suddenly go from 150W to 300! In this case, the ICE amplifiers are very efficient so a consumption of 30W per module is actually probably pretty similar to the 59W a module quoted
