I replaced the ones on mine with new Peerless drivers from Wilmslow Audio some years ago. I used some from the classic range and they fit well and sound great! They were quite expensive! It was before I knew of Recone lab.

Using the Musical Fidelity with my G5, the bass seems better and you can get more dynamics - the only problem is the sound is better so you listen at a louder volume! I don't have my HD600s at present (swapped with Lee!) but when I swap back, I'll let you know. The HD600s seem to take more driving than the Grados so I would expect them to be

I have about 100 or so! The Avant is around (I have a copy!) The problem is that they are usually much less useful as circuit diagrams are usually not provided. It is all module replacement these days.
