  • Re: BG4000 Spare parts

Agree, though these are all new bagged parts.

  • Re: beogram 3000 datalink, what's the trick?

Do you have another Datalink product? Only one pin is actually used so you can unscrew the non active one and put it in the Beogram. Interestingly non RIAA Beograms use the opposite pin to all other devices.

  • Re: BeoLink 5000 compatible with current B&O??

    You need a 7000!

  • Re: BeoLab 4000,- now driven by ICEpower!

As stated before, the output has not fallen - just the input!! The fact that they have identical sound pressures would suggest that the actual power output to the speakers is pretty similar! As far as power is concerned, expecting the BL4000s to go very loud in a large room would be unrealistic but for the task for which they are designed, they are

  • Re: decoder-recorder with beo4?

The Sky+ works via the TV set which has a Set Top Box Controller (STB-C) built in. This works by translating the message sent to the Beovision into the correct codes for the Sky+ box. It then sends this message via a IR emitter in a long cable which is placed by the IR eye of the Sky box. If you don't have a B&O set, this is clearly not an option

  • Re: BeoLink 5000 compatible with current B&O??

Don't completely agree with this - I think the 5000 is beautifully made and feels smaller and almost jewel like. The display is gorgeous and the see through technology and the fact you can flip it is wonderfully B&O. But it is rotten as a one way controller! (I actually don't like it as a two way controller either as programming with it

  • Re: BeoLink 5000 compatible with current B&O??

Will it work? - Yes! Would I do it? - No! You lose the two way programming so the major purpose is lost. You will just have an inferior Beo4 really. Also a bit more fragile.

  • Re: Beolab 8000 IEC-Power?

Don't agree that everything will go ICE. There are disadvantages as well! Note the BL9s use Class AB amplifiers for the tweeter and midrange. AB amplifiers sound very good and are well tried technology. ICE, or Class D have also been around for a long time (think 1960s!) but it is only recently that they have been used for audio amplifiers successfully

  • Re: decoder-recorder with beo4?

That is the equivalent of Sky+ in the UK I believe. If it uses the same codes (and I think it does!) then it works very well indeed with a STB-C which should be standard on the BV9.

  • Re: Catalogues

Good idea. However I wonder if a simple link just to the catalogues would be useful as they are in a slightly obscure place! My fault!
