Your problem sounds like the beginning of the classic duff laser effect. The CD mechanism will probably need replacement. In the meantime, try cleaning the laser lens.

Believe me, they are no longer available and haven't been for some years. It doesn't matter where you live, they are not available. Hence , mint examples of any item in the series fetch premium prices. The only possible exception could be the cassette player which has a limited market nowadays. MMC are "Moving Micro Cross" which is a derivative of moving magnet designs. Output is a bit lower than most traditional moving magnet cartridges but the MM setting will do, you will have to turn the volume control up a little.

In the UK, we used to be nominal 240V supply and we changed to 230V to accomodate you Europeans when we all decided to get in bed together! Most UK spec vintage B&O had and used a 240V tapping on the transformer and had different part numbers to the EU variant.

Like Peter I have to admit to being unimpressed with the passive amp or the amp in the BC9XXX series other than they do a job and seem reliable. Where I disagree with Peter is regarding the DAC. I suspect that you have messed up the pincode entry and will now need to leave it for at least 3 hours until the system will allow you to re-enter the correct pin code. This is all described in your user manual! Take a tip from me........when you do get it working.........de-activate the pin code system ( also described in the user manual ). That way
