Hi, I would really fancy trying a Beogram 4000 bearing and platter on the 4002. Has anyone ever done this? Here's a challenge! I'm ready to pay if anyone's got a scrap BG 4000. I could even fabricate a new motor pulley if that's required. Anybody?

Wow, these motors are the same as the ones found on cassette decks, Panasonic FG servo, very likely busted. The brushes are metal and have a tendency to disintegrate! How did you fix your sub-platter?

As a reminder, when I double the value of C9 the arm's descent is slow but the muting relay never clicks. LM324 is fine. Passive components are fine, no cracked tracks or joints. Are you sure the coil is not damped?

Hi, Is it normal that the 33rpm bulb blinks as the relay clicks when the arm detects the start of the record? After the diagram, it seems that the bulb is an important part of the circuit. I guess that if the lamp is shot, detection won't work, or will it?

Pleased to meet you Olly! No, silly me I forgot to take a photo while working on it. The motor is a Maxon Swiss made motor. Interestingly, there is no bearing on the brush side, which makes it easy to maintain.
