I still prefer the BV5 - I like the symmetry. But the picture of the BV9 is in another class and the connections also make it no contest!

Bad luck. Mine was destroyed in transit as well but I got it working with the help of my service department. Martin could possibly help though a 4000 arm could be beyond even him.

Check you have all the bits first! It took him two and one half hours! We also discovered that the 2.3 software froze the TV - so we left the 2.0 in it. It is not that simple and this was with a practically new AV9000.

Just to say a big thank you to Pedro for a super article on how to connect a Mac Mini to a BV7. I attach this to this post but it will also feature in the BV7 manual pages and as a FAQ. Well that was fun!! AV9000 now has a working STB-C thanks to the sterling efforts of Terry! There were a few problems!!! 1. The kit I was sold was missing: a. The bracket to hold the card in the set! b. The IR cable! c. Any nuts and bolts! d. The software chip!!!!!!!!!!!!! Luckily Terry had brought another set which was broken but had all the parts

Actually I think you can tell the difference between CD players - not sure I would describe one as better - rather different! Had a bit of practice recently! However the biggest difference in tonal qualities is in changing speakers
