• Re: Any technically-capable members in the Nebraska area?
By the way, is Finland a good place to buy B&O? I was thinking about getting some (read: a trunkful) valve sets to keep me occupied during the winter.
I'm afraid not. There are sometimes bargains when neither the seller nor the (other) buyers know anything about the kit in case... put in particular
As good as new.
Intercontinental on-site service delivered with less than 14 days turnover! Another Beoworld moment! Yeah, I have a 5-pin 4004 as well. No 2400 either, though...

  • Re: Oak M75's?!

I may eventually try to do something with them - as you probably guessed, I've tried the easy things already and they didn't improve much. Forgot to mention that they are also fretless and standless, so pretty much a lost cause anyway and open for experiments... If they looked better I might swap parts with my white 80.2's, but currently
I recently visited a guy off ebay who had B&O stuff everywhere. He had some gorgous S80.2's in oak I could not believe how nice they looked!
I have a pair, unfortunately they are quite tatty with bad moisture damage on top of one, and with incorrect woofers. I've been wondering what I should do with

  • Re: A Vintage Birthday Present.

That's one comprehensive scale! Makes one wonder how the (currently) old people could operate equipment of this complexity back then, when they now have problems with anything with more than one button... Congratulations on both the radio & your birthday!

  • Re: Beomaster 5500 not always starts into standby - SOLVED?!
The issue with the X2 processor clock: does it have to be activated by the software? I think when the firmware of B&O doesn't activate it extra it should work with the "normal" frequency?
The CPU starts in normal mode, and the X2 mode is activated by writing a 1 into a single bit in a certain

  • Re: beolink 5000
I have one comment regarding the other options. With Beo4 it is not possible to tune the BeoMaster 7000, since the function TUNE or GOTO is not in the LIST functions under Audio!
Actually it is possible, but it requires a trick with option 2 (so the Beomaster follows the video mode TUNE command) and is quite

  • Re: Beomaster 8000 tuner : nothing past 97 MHz
The tuning voltages goes right up to 22V past 96.3 (it should be 19,5V at 108).
That is so odd that it makes me wonder if you should just replace more, sounds like some component has a non-linearity which might not show up in normal tests, perhaps around TR7/D4... How is TR1 and the opamp? Have you tried with no

  • Re: CD-playing turntable..

"We couldn't get a video cassette to fit in the Beocord" would've made this complete Anyway, after fixing the speakers, it would still be an awesome setup.
