Bear in mind the BeoSound 5 a software platform with a beautifully designed/built controller. As it stands at present, no it may not be the most up-to-date product in 10 years time, but it's something B&O can develop. I can't see that music is going to require more processing power than the BeoSound 5 currently has...

You may have only been using them for one year, but wait until ten years down the line! The platter bearings will seize up and you'll be left with a slower, eventually dead drive. Not what B&O customers want from a BeoSound 5. Admittedly the hard drive is relatively easy to swap in the BeoSound 5, but B&O would want to minimize this as much as possible

Connecting BeoLab 5s via digital is definitely the way to go! Bear in mind that any signal which goes through the BeoLab 5 will be passing through the software inside them. Connecting a CD player via Analogue is just adding in two extra conversion stages, and for every conversion stage, there is a (usually) small, but noticeable loss in quality.

The BeoSystem 6500/7000 would be the cheapest way of getting a 'true B&O system', but TBH I think you would prefer a BeoSound 9000. There is no difference in sound when using a BeoSound 9000 vs a super-duper high-end transport along with BeoLab 5s, as the BeoLab 5s handle all of the signal processing etc... Either that or a BeoCenter 2...

6TB is not possible unless you RAID array at least 4 1.5 TB hard drives. The FAT32 file system (used in Windows) only supports up to 9TB though. Mac OS supports just under 80,000,000 TB, which is enough Either way, B&O's choice to use a 500 GB drive is sensible. 1TB drives are still not as reliable as the less dense 500 GB drives which have been around

A nerdy one from me here, the Shure SM58 - still the industry standard microphone, and has been for approaching 40 years. Indestructable, relatively cheap and sounds pretty good on almost any instrument/vocalist. Good in the studio or live.

Shut down the computer immediately, take the hard drive out, stick it in a completely watertight bag, leave it in the fridge for a day or two, and it should work for a few hours, unless it's completely had it. It's also possible that the corruption is just in the boot sector, in which case, the hard drive is still readable, but not bootable. Putting
