It will be the transformer. The original option would be to replace the transformer but these will not be easy to source. Check it is seated properly in the case. If you are able to decouple the BM from its surroundings, this can help. I use a couple of rubber supports underneath my BM4400 which hums. The noise is amplified by the wooden cabinet and

Finding one could be trickier though. You need a truly bust tangential deck! I would ask around first. You will need the arm assembly. I wonder if you actually need one though. If you can get the weight to the correct spot and fix it, you should not really need to move it again. A small bit of wax would stop it moving but would allow repair if you ever

Excellent idea but I don't think anyone has managed this yet. I dare say the codes are on a chip in the A9 and will be ROM rather than RAM. I wonder if a aletter to B&O may be the way forward? The DTV idea would certainly be sensible though the PC might be a little too specialised.

Agree! But have a listen first! I wonder if you might actually be better off with Beolab 3s as these are the new generation, will definitely be a talking point and sound very good. I would however audition them against the others first as different music suits different speakers. I understand where you are coming from with this idea but the Beoport

Yes, but you only see detail with your macula which is your central vision. That is what will be covered by your fist. Seeing screen in your peripheral vision is an expensive way to waste money!

I think a lot of B&O products do have the magical feel you mention. However the TV range perhaps does not. I am a true B&O fan - I have more bits of B&O than I care to divulge! - but I am also not blinkered. The BV4 is a Panasonic screen with a silver frame. It is not made in Denmark. Nothing wrong with that as Panasonic do make great screens

My pet hate is the way systems are set up. BL9s with the bass switch set to maximum, in a corner and the loudness and tone controls set right up. Sounded appalling.

I think the mk2 BV9 could have a bit more of the magic. Not only that but it is almost a bit of a bargain for B&O!! That and some BL5s would give any system a pretty good run for its money. I must confess that I would actually get a projector rather than a bigger screen now.

Because until recently, Panasonic made the best screens. They are still very highly rated. Actually it is the LCD panels I have the most problem with and this is common to all the brands,

I would hope so. I now have over 100Gb of music on my computer and it is impossible to control it usefully. I will upgrade when it becomes possible and not till then! In the meantime, my favourite system dates from the 70s!
