Look inside the cartridge to make sure the piece of plastic is not stuck inside! It is gluable, I did mine, but you will be reluctant to want to change cartridges in the future! I am not sure how easy it would be to remove from a tone arm if you want to replace. I doubt you would get anything but a complete assembly tbh!

The strip of plastic that holds the contacts (and inserts into the cartridge body) is mean't to be bent at I would guess about 30 degrees. If that is the case slide the cartridge in at it's natural angle. If it is broken it will be loose and able to bend. Not an easy permenant repair but possible! There is also a grounding spring that inserts

Did you clean the pivot point and collar on the arm, and have you put the small spring between lower and upper levers back properly? Well congratulations and glad everything is now working properly :) Regarding the lowering mechanism at the very least that lowering arm will have to be removed so the old lube can be cleaned off (use IPA). You will need to be careful removing the circlip as it is easily lost! I also remove and clean the damper then relube. It is also time to download
